This AGV is designed for outdoor environments, such as rainy weather and uneven road surfaces. It is used for transport between buildings within factory premises. A trackless type equipped with 3D LiDAR, which does not require magnetic cables, is also available.

Functional equipment and performance improvement for outdoor use

In many factories, manned towing vehicles are used for transport between buildings. By introducing outdoor AGVs, unmanned operation can be achieved. These outdoor AGVs are capable of operating in various outdoor environments such as rainy weather, slopes, and uneven road surfaces.
The Avance M is the fastest and highest load-capacity model in the outdoor series. A trackless 3D LiDAR version is also available.

Outdoor environment compatible

New model of trackless outdoor AGV

Two 3D Lidar sensors, the same ones used in autonomous driving, are used. When measuring on a flat surface using a 2D sensor, the route may be lost due to changes in the environment, such as a pallet of parts being loaded near the driving route.
Accuracy can be improved by understanding the surrounding environment, including distant views, in 3D.

In tracked magnetic systems, a magnetic cable is embedded as the driving route, but by using a 3D Lidar sensor, the magnetic cable is no longer necessary, making it easier to change or add routes.
